January Health tips
In the winter months, working out is critical for several reasons. Exercise boosts your defense system to fight the flu, commons colds as well as other health problems such as depression and joint stiffness.
Keep your skin moisturized. During the winter months, the outer layer of skin becomes very dry, therefore it is important to keep it well moisturized. Even those with oily skin should use light moisturizing lotions. Oil-based moisturizers, rather than water-based will create a protective layer on the skin that retains more moisture.
Stay hydrated by increasing your intake of water, hot teas and hot soups. Cold temperatures can reduce the body’s thirst sensation by up to 40%, so drink before you become thirsty!
