Celebrating Pride Month: Inclusive Care for Every Patient
June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and to recognize the ongoing journey toward equality, dignity, and belonging. At Jordan & Associates OB/GYN, Pride is also an opportunity to say something clearly and without qualification: every patient is welcome here, exactly as they are.
What Inclusive Care Means at Our Practice
Healthcare works best when patients feel safe being honest with their providers. For many LGBTQ+ patients, past experiences in medical settings have made that honesty feel risky. Studies consistently show that fear of judgment leads some patients to delay care, skip screenings, or withhold information that matters for their health.
We are committed to being a practice where that fear has no place. For us, inclusive care means:
- Asking about your life and health without assumptions
- Respecting your name, pronouns, and identity
- Providing knowledgeable care for patients of all sexual orientations and gender identities
- Creating an environment where your partner or support person is welcomed as part of your care
Health Needs Deserve Attention, Not Assumptions
Routine gynecologic care matters for everyone who needs it. Cervical cancer screenings, breast health, contraception, fertility planning, and preventive wellness visits are important regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. If it has been a while since your last visit, or if you have avoided care because a past experience left you feeling unseen, we invite you to give us the chance to do better.
Our Commitment, This Month and Always
Pride Month lasts thirty days, but our commitment to inclusive, respectful care is year-round. Dr. Jordan and our entire team believe that excellent healthcare and genuine respect are inseparable, and we work to deliver both at every visit.
To our LGBTQ+ patients, families, and neighbors: we see you, we celebrate you, and we are proud to care for you. Happy Pride from all of us at Jordan & Associates OB/GYN.
